APC Remains Nigeria’s Biggest Mistake – Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday took a critical look at the All Progressives Congress (APC), he assisted to enthrone in 2015, describing it as Nigeria’s biggest mistake.
Atiku, who stated this at a colourful event in Yola, Adamawa State, during which prominent APC stalwarts defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, said the time has come for Nigerians to correct the mistake by rejecting the party.
He specifically members of the APC to as a matter of urgency and national interest, leave the party owing to “woeful performance,” stressing that the mass defection from the party signaled the coming interment of the APC.
In the words of Atiku; “We have done a big mistake before by floating a party called the APC. But from today, I am calling on you, the Adamawa people to leave your parties and join the PDP because it is the future and the masses party. I can boldly said that APC is Nigeria’s biggest mistake.
“It was PDP that gave back life to Adamawa State after it was slayed by the APC, ushering the state into her present state of infrastructural development.
“Our schools are now better and our health institutions are in superb shape. I pray that this event will mark the beginning of the internment of the APC,” he said.
The even witnessed former prominent members of the APC, including the former Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Mr. Kobis Thimnu, Chief Daniel Bwala, Sali Bodes, Umar Bello, Nedo Geofrey and Philip Gutuwa that were graciously received by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri into the PDP.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri assured the new PDP members of fairness and a level playing ground just as he canvassed support for former Vice President Atiku’s presidential aspiration.
Fintiri appealed to the PDP stakeholders in Adamawa to work round-the-clock to sell Atiku’s candidature outside the state, stressing that Atiku is the messiah that Nigeria is earnestly awaiting.
