Assault: Please, Forgive Me – Ahmed Isah, Begs NAWOJ, Listeners
BY EVELYN DADU, ABUJA – Television presenter and host of popular Radio programme “Brekete family” Mr Ahmed Isah, has tendered an apology for assaulting a woman who was simply identified as Susan while interviewing her over allegation of child abuse inside his studio.
Susan is being accused of having poured kerosene on a young girl’s head and caused her to suffer severe injuries from burnt.
Susan, who admitted to had burnt the young girl’s head but pleaded for mercy saying that she did know what came over her, was followed by some slaps by the Tv presenter Ahmed Isah as captured in a trending video clip circulated by BBC online.
The spontaneous action of Ahmed Isah in the video attracted divergent views and shades of opinion.
Following the development, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) national secretariat demanded an apology from Ahmed Isah, who is also the owner of Human rights radio.
Ahmed Isah while presenting a programmed on Wednesday publicly apoligised to his listeners within and outside the shores of Nigeria, to forgive him over his unprofessional act.
Isah said that his reaction was due to the level of injury and pain he felt was suffered by the humiliated six-year old girl who was brought to his office.
