BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – Support groups of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate have continued to spread as the Atikulate Grassroots Movement was inaugurated in Jos over the weekend.
The inauguration event which held at the campaign secretariat of the Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Senator JT Useni, attracted a cream of PDP youths and followers who thronged the venue in thousands.
In attendance to superintend over the exercise were the national coordinator of the Atikulate Grassroots Movement, Comrade Dan Agiende Akwagiobe, zonal coordinator, Azikie Patrick, and Richard Eze, Plateau State coordinator.
Speaking during the inauguration, Comrade Akwagiobe tasked the group to brace up to the challenge and national necessity of getting Atiku Abubakar elected as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2019.
Urging the members to work hard by campaigning from door to door, Akwagiobe told the members to go back to their wards to not only mobilize voters, but to ultimately deliver the votes to the PDP candidate, saying the imperative to sack President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress from power is a national emergency in 2019.
Akwagiobe also reminded the members that mobilization and delivering of votes are not enough if the members do not guide, protect, and defend their votes, saying this is necessary to frustrate the rigging plans of the ruling party in the forthcoming elections.
In his own remarks, the zonal coordinator, Azikie Patrick, recalled that Nigeria under the APC is not the country of the dream of its forefathers, and reminded the members that it is through their hard work and effective mobilization of the electorate that they can vote in the right person to salvage Nigeria and her future.
He said the time to rebuild Nigeria is now by voting the PDP candidates to all levels and tests of government.
In his response, the state coordinator, Richard Ever promised that the Plateau Atikulated Grassroots Movement will not disappoint Nigerians, pointing out the members will mobilize and deploy immediately as they are determined to achieve victory for the PDP in Plateau in all the forthcoming elections.
The event also featured the inauguration of the local government and wards Executives of the political lobby group.
