Atiku’s Stance Supports OBJ’s Obi Endorsement – ZAP
BY EDMOND ODOK – If the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is truly sincere, then former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential flag bearer, Mr. Peter Obi, tallies with his original stance on the 2023 presidency.
According to the Zikist-Aminu Kano Patriots (ZAP), Obasanjo’s choice of Obi should appropriately resonate with the former Vice President’s expressed belief that it is the turn for Southeast to produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in this year’s February 25 presidential polls.
Reacting to the PDP presidential spokesman, Mr. Charles Aniagwu’s narrative on current developments in the polity, the Spokesperson of ZAP, Dr. Steve Igweze said it was unfair for a Fulani man to succeed another Fulani as president after eight years in a multi-ethnic-religious country like Nigeria.
Aniagwu had, in defending Atiku’s ambition, said it was not the Wazirin Adamawa’s fault that PDP abandoned its zoning arrangement and threw the contest open, but that of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who frustrated the system due to his inordinate ambition for the 2023 presidency
Consequently, ZAP applauded the patriotism and statesmanship of Chief Obasanjo, noting that the former president and his former deputy, Atiku, have shown that proper power rotation is the right thing to do in promoting and sustaining Nigeria’s unity and stability.
The ZAP’s image maker said the PDP Presidential Campaign Council’s attempt to dismiss Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi should be seen as a self-serving afterthought, adding; “For us in the Zikist-Aminu Kano Patriots, Obasanjo’s endorsement is in fulfillment of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s innermost mind on micro zoning the 2023 Presidency to the Southeast, before some unpatriotic elements selfishly pushed him to use his Dubai-Machiavellian war-chest to jettison equity, fairness in the PDP Presidential Primary, which created G-5-Wike Masquerade albatross”.
Igweze, who dismissed claims by some PDP members that Atiku’s choice was a smart move to win the Presidency with or without Obasanjo’s endorsement, said it was impossible for PDP and Atiku to pull together all the northern votes as they contemplate in the elections.
Furthermore, Igweze stated that northern voters are among the most sophisticated electorates in Nigeria, as they know Atiku and do not trust him, saying nobody should assume Atiku will be in any position to harvest President Buhari’s 12 million vote bank.
Hear him; “The North doesn’t trust Atiku, the high tuition fees at his Adamawa University are not pro-poor, as such he does not represent the progressive social welfarist tendency of the north. The northern voters know Atiku as an unsmiling capitalist, a wharf Tax Collector, like his counterpart, the Lagos Tax Collector.”
Offering insights into the Wharf Tax Collector and Lagos Tax Collector aphorisms, Dr. Igweze narrated how Atiku’s main wealth source is from Intel, a logistic company based at the Wharf, just like Tinubu’s Alpha Betta is Lagos Tax Collector.
He said the 2023 elections are for the Talakawas, the suffering Nigerian youths, and the masses, pointing out that ZAP, like elder statesmen Obasanjo, Pa Adebanjo, TY Danjuma, and a host of other silent patriots, is afraid of any Tax Collector presiding over Nigeria now because the economy is prostrate and in a cliff-hanger.
The ZAP spokesman said; “Nobody can deny that Rabiu Kwankwaso has massive votes in Northwest. Kwankwaso, in spite of all the Dubai-Machiavellian lobby, will not play the Aminu Tambuwal betrayal by stepping down.
“We are happy that President Buhari has serially assured the international community and Nigerians of a free, fair, and transparent 2023 presidential election. In addition, contrary to false media narratives, the APC Northern Governors Forum is not supporting Atiku and that keeps the Buhari Vote-Bank beyond the Dubai war chest.”
