Attack On Imo Police Command: Operatives Kill Five Hoodlums

Five hoodlums have reportedly lost their lives while attempting another attack on Imo State Police Command Headquarters early on Sunday.

It was indeed a bad day for the criminals as Security operatives also arrested the gang’s suspected leader identified as Dragon during the attack.

According to the Imo Police Command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, Dragon and his gang met their Waterloo while trying to gain entry into the State Command headquarters.

Confirming the incident, Elkana said; “They made efforts to access the Police Headquarters through Works Layout, around Avan Nursery and Primary School but were effectively repelled by our men.

“They came in a white Hummer bus. Five of the hoodlums were killed during an exchange of fire and others were injured. The Hummer bus is recovered. Four Ak47 rifles were also recovered.”

Giving further insight on how the invaders were repelled before they could assess the premises, the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) said; “We have unmasked the unknown gunmen today. The gang leader, the dreaded Dragon has been captured alive and he has made a useful statement that will end the idea of unknown gunmen terrorising the state.”

A police sources however said a manhunt is already in place for some of the hoodlums who escaped from the scene during their exchange of fire with security operatives.

This incident is the second time in less than three months hoodlums are attacking the Command headquarters.

The first attack occurred on April 5, 2022 when unknown gunmen stormed the Command with explosives and other dangerous weapons, destroying several vehicles and in the process freeing over 600 detainees from custody.

Competent Police sourced however disclosed that in their latest attack on the Command headquarters, the hooligans suffered heavy casualties in the hands of the Police.
