Bandits Intensify Activities, Kill Two Immigration Officers In Kebbi

Deadly bandits operating in the North West geopolitical zone have reportedly increased the tempo of their unwholesome activities leading to the death of two personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Kebbi State.

The killing of the two officers of the NIS attached to the Kebbi State command was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by DSI Abdullahi Isa, spokesman of the Service in Kebbi.

The statement stated; “On a sad note, on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, a group of suspected bandits launched an attack on Immigration Officers at Garin Garba entry point, about 12 Kilometers away from Kangiwa headquarters of Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi.

“As a result, two gallant officers lost their lives. They are: Isa Nafi’u (II) NIS No. 34057 and Garba Haruna Fana (II) NIS No. 17796.”

Isa however said that the third officer was lucky as he escaped unharmed, adding that the two deceased have been buried in Birnin Kebbi according to Islamic Injunction.

The NIS spokesman prayed to God to forgive their shortcomings, grant them rest, and grant their immediate families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
