Bauchi Labour Party Members Back Peter Obi For Victory

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Concerned Members of the Labour Party (LP) in Bauchi State insist their support for the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi remains unwavering with victory awaiting the party at this year’s general elections in the State.
With assurances that there is no stopping the LP Standard bearer from emerging victorious during the February 25 poll, the party’s members across all the 20 Local Government Areas also declared their loyalty and confidence in the State chapter leadership led by its Chairman, Barrister Hussaini Saraki.
Rising from a meeting organized on Saturday to further demonstrate their support and appreciation to the Party leadership, the members maintained that the Chapter Executives have done tremendously well considering the huge success recorded during the recently held presidential campaign flag-off in the State.
Against the backdrop of recent complaints of marginalisation by some LP candidates in the State, Spokesperson of the group, Hajara Moses John said their focus is on ensuring victory for all LP candidates across board during the elections.
Hajara Moses John, who addressed journalists shortly after the Stakeholders’ meeting said; “We wish to categorically state without any fear of contradiction, that, the Chairman and his Executive Committee members have organized one of the most historic event ever in the history of Labour Party in Bauchi state.
“It was a great event where people from all the nooks and crannies in the state, irrespective of their tribal and religious differences, came out en masse to welcome our incoming President come 2023, in the person of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Obi.”
According to her, the Labour Party family will not be distracted from its agenda of winning and making Bauchi State better, adding that they were out “to counter the ill-advised gimmicks and campaign of calumny against the Labour Party’s Chairman and his Executives”.
She said it was unfortunate that some disgruntled party members are accusing the Chairman of marginalising a particular segment of LP’s community, describing them as “mischief makers only out to satisfy their personal egos, instead of protecting the Party’s interest and that of the good people of Bauchi State.”
“We want to use this medium to thank His Excellency, Mr. Pete Obi and his Vice Presidential candidate, Sen. Yusuf Datti for the confidence reposed on the leadership of Labour Party in Bauchi state under Barr Hussaini Saraki”, Hajara Moses said.
Further speaking on their the party’s cohesiveness and readiness for the upcoming polls, the members said; “We further assured His Excellency and all the lovers of Labour Party in the state and beyond that Labour Party in Bauchi state is a united entity working together for victory.
“We are united as one family who share common ideology and belief with respect to Labour Party and the party is set to achieve its quest to secure victory in the forthcoming election.”
