Bauchi NUJ Constitutes 7-Man Team For Constitution Review
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI- Focused on being an active part of the proposed review of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) constitution, Bauchi State Council of the Union has constituted a seven-man constitutional review committee to receive and collate inputs from chapels and stakeholders for onward submission to the NUJ National Secretariat in Abuja.
A statement by the State Secretary of the union, Isah Garba Gadau, said the Committee is headed by a former council chairman, Mohammed Sani Mohammed while Umar Mohammed Shira will serve as its secretary.
Other members of the Review committee include Mrs Fibi Kafi, Barrister Amina Yahaya, Ishola Michael Adeyemi, Haruna Babale and Obed Hassan.
The Committee is expected to request and accept Memoranda from members of the Union and interested stakeholders in respect to the proposed Review of the NUJ Constitution as they relate to the position of Bauchi State council.
Gadau said the committee will be inaugurated today (Friday) 12th November 2021 by 11 am at the NUJ Secretariat with all the State Executive Committee members of the union are expected to be in attendance.
