BY AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – The joy of Onoja Ejembi, a personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), that was occasioned by the birth of his triplets through a successful caesarean section (surgery) on his wife, Mrs Ene Ejimbe, has been cut short and left in a bewildered state of mind, thinking of what to do.

To put it mildly, the joyful mood of Mr and Mrs Onoja Ejembi has changed dramatically to one of dejection owing to the humongous hospital bills presented to the couple that has sent quivers and jitters into their spines.

The wife of the NSCDC personnel, who identified herself as Mrs Ene Onoja Ejembi, whose husband and father of her triplets is serving in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, has three other children before the arrival of the latest set in her over 10 years of marriage.

Ene Ejenbi and the triplets are presently at a private hospital known as Oshegba hospital, Lafia.

The Ejembis said that they were forced to use the facility of the private hospital as a result of the industrial action embarked upon by civil servants in the state including health workers.

The stranded couple as a result of the bills they openly confessed is beyond their ability, are passionately appealing to spirited Nigerians to come to their aid in order to offset the huge hospital bill they never anticipated.

The worried couple said as at now, they are left with no option than to remain in the hospital pending when God will intervene in their matter through spirited individuals who will come to their rescue.

Our correspondent who visited the nursing mother at Oshegba hospital in Lafia, reported that the woman is in a pensive mood waiting for a miracle to happen.

Similarly, the husband, who presently serves at the Karu division of the NSCDC is passionately appealing to the government and other kind hearted Nigerians to come to their aid, saying that he is cannot afford paying the bill in the next one year if he is to spend the whole of his salary.

Taking over the appeal from her husband, Mrs. Ene said; “we are already finding it extremely difficult to meet other essential needs like food and medication. We are not in a position to settle the bills except if God sends people to come to our aid.

“I am appealing to you to please assist us and tell Nigerians to help us. I don’t want to lose my children as I can’t pay for the bills,” she cried for help.
