In what appeared bizarre and beyond acceptable norms, a Zambia’s top diplomat serving at the country’s Mission in Pretoria, South Africa, Ms. Mazuba Monze has been sacked following her directive to an embassy staff to carry out dutty considered completely outside his schedule of responsibilities.

The sacked Ambassador Mazuba Monze was alleged to have requested a Zambian staff with an unexpected and uncommon demand.

Simply put, Ms. Mazuba Monze undiplomatically directed a male staff to shave her private parts which led to a prompt response from the staff saying; “It is not part of my duties to shave Ambassadors, especially their private parts”.

The response of the staff was considered as rude and unacceptable disobedience and insubordination.

Accordingly, she fired the male staff who initially left but, later refused to let the matter lie low as he took it up.

He therefore appealed against the decision of the Ambassador as he reported the matter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

When the allegation about the strange request by Ms Monze was verified, President Hakainde Hichilema promptly relieved her of her appointment as High Commissioner.
