- Suspect now in Police custody
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old woman identified as Gift for allegedly biting off the tip of her lover’s manhood during a domestic squabble in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, May 15 around the Mile 3 Area of Diobu, Port Harcourt, sent shockwaves through the densely populated Bishop Okoye Street and its environs.
Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent of Police Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said; “Yes, I can confirm the incident.
“The woman (suspect) aged 43 years has been arrested and investigation is currently ongoing”.
Reliable sources hinted that when news of the incident broke out, there was instant commotion in the area as residents gathered in groups to discuss the unfortunate development.
It was gathered that trouble started when Gift’s lover, identified as Sunday, requested that they have sex together.
However, as discussion between both lovers heated up, Gift reportedly refused Sunday’s advances, accusing him of using sex-enhancing drugs that made their encounters excessively prolonged.
Speaking to some reporters on condition of anonymity, one of the neighbours volunteered thus; “ As their argument escalated, Sunday suddenly became angry and allegedly descended on Gift for refusing and turning down his passionate plea for them to make out.
“In the process, Gift managed to get hold of her male partner’s manhood with her mouth and immediately bite off the cap of the penis.”
“It was the man’s screams that reportedly drew the attention of neighbours, some of whom attempted to mob the woman before police intervened.
“What some of us saw is that the cap of the man’s penis was completely bitten off by his female lover”.
Meanwhile, the timely intervention of the officers from the Nkpolu Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, saved Gift from being lynched by a mob as she was rescued and taken into custody by the Police.
On his part, the victim, Sunday, was rushed to an undisclosed hospital within the city for urgent medical attention with some family members praying that the unfortunate incident does not cause any serious harm to him going forward.
