BREAKING: el-Rufai, Police To Pay N40m To Chocolate City Founder, Maikori
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday directed Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State and the Nigeria Police Force to pay the sum of N40 million to the founder of Chocolate City, Audu Maikori for illegal detention and violation of his rights as a citizen of Nigeria.
Delivering the verdict today, Justice J. Tsoho maintained that Maikori’s lawyer, Gloria Mabeiam Balaason, proved beyond reasonable doubts that the rights of the Chocolate City founder was infringed upon and, therefore, ordered that both the governor and the NPF pay the sum of N40 million as compensation to Maikori.
