BREAKING: Kidnappers Of Kaduna Monarch Demand N100m
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA -The abductors of the paramount ruler of the Ham people, His Royal Highness, Kpop Ham Danladi Gyet Maude, have demanded the sum of N100 million ransom as a condition for his release.
According to a source knowledgeable on the matter, the kidnappers on Tuesday morning reached out to the family where they placed their demand.
It is not clear if the request by the family to talk to the kidnapped monarch was granted, but the abductors insisted on payment of the ransom as condition for the release of the paramount ruler.
Bandits had on Monday abducted the 83-year-old traditional ruler was abducted in his farm situated along the Kwoi-Keffi highway. The monarch was in the company of some of his security aides as the abductors invaded the farm on foot at about 2:00 pm, and took only the paramount ruler.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Kaduna State Command, ASP Muhammed Jalige, had said that the command was in touch with the Nasarawa State Police Command on the matter.

The abduction of the Kpop Ham is coming on the heels of a similar abduction of 83-year-old Emir of Kajuru, Kajuru LGA of Kaduna, Alhaji Hassan Adamu. He was kidnapped from his house, with no fewer than 10 members of his family, including his wife and children. Respite came when the police and other security personnel were deployed to comb all the forest, and less than 24 hours he was rescued.
The Kpop Ham is the forth monarch to be kidnaped. In December 2017, the paramount ruler of Ikulu land, Zangon Kataf LGA, HRH, Agwam Akulu, Chief Sidi Kukah, who is the younger brother to Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, was abducted from his palace and kept in the bush for over two weeks before he was eventually released by his abductors after ransom was paid.
In October 2018, the Agom Adara, HRH, Dr Maiwada Galadima, was also kidnapped on his way back to Kachia. After attending a meeting convened by the Kaduna State Government. After ransom was paid for his freedom, the Kidnappers killed him and dumped his corpse along the Kaduna-Abuja Express way, eight days after.
