Breaking: Plateau Assembly Sacks Speaker Azi As Madaki Takes Over

Following the spate of crises rocking Plateau State, members of the State House of Assembly on Wednesday wielded the big stick against their leadership by impeaching the Speaker, Hon Peter Azi.

The legislators immediately elected Hon Joshua Izang Madaki as the new Speaker. Madaki represents Jos East State Constituency.

Also impeached alongside former Speaker Azi is the House Majority Leader, Hon Henry Yemwep, representing Shendam State Constituency where Governor Simon Lalong hails from.

Similarly, Hon Nanlong Daniel was elected as new Majority Leader to replace Hon Yemwep.
