Buhari Declares Old N200 Note Legal Till April 10

In a move meant to ease the pains of Nigerians due to the current scarcity of the new Naira notes, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the continuous use of the old N200 banknote as legal tender till April 10, 2023.

Consequently, the old N200 note will be used alongside its new version till the expiration of the new deadline approved by the President.

President Buhari, who gave the approval on Thursday morning in a nationwide broadcast, also used the opportunity to apologise to Nigerians over the difficulties experienced in accessing the scarce newly redesigned Naira notes.
