BY EDMOND ODOK – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved some new appointments as well as renewal of existing tenures for some of the Federal government parastatals and agencies.
A statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), and signed by the Director of Information, Mr Willie Bassey conveyed news of the presidential approvals on Friday, 30th December 2022.
The statement said the new appointment endorsed by President Buhari is that of Dauda Ali Biu as the Corp Marshal and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) with effect from 23rd December 2022 for an initial term of four years.
On the list of renewed appointments are Professor Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye as Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), effective 1st December 2022 for a final term of five years.
Simialrly, Mr Lanre Gbajabiamila got his appointment as Director-General National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) renewed effective 21st November 2022 for a final term of four years.
Others benefitting from the presidential approvals are five executive directors who were re-appointed in four of the nation’s River Basin Development Authorities. They are Engineer Bello Sani Gwarzo, who was re-appointed Executive Director (Planning), Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Engineer Olatunji Babalola, Executive Director (Engineering); and Engineer Adewale Adeoye, Executive Director (Planning and Design).
On his part, Bashir Bala Zango, Executive Director (Planning), Sokoto Rima Basin Development Authority. All the renewed appointments are effective 23rd November 2022 for a final term of three years in office.
Another fresh appointment is Mrs. Ononuju Mary Nwabunor, Executive Director (Agricultural Services), Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority, effective 19th December 2022 for an initial term of three years.
According to the statement, the President has congratulated all the appointees and urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their respective duties.
