Businesswoman In Tears As Court Adjourns Divorce Suit
The painful thoughts of going back home with her estranged husband made a businesswoman, Mrs Vera Okoroma, to break down in tears as the Court adjourned her divorce suit until May 3, for a report of settlement or further hearing.
For the embittered woman, it was an unfair arrangement as the presiding Judge, Labaran Gusau on Thursday advised the couple to explore all avenues to have an out-of-court settlement for the sake of their children.
In between sobs, the woman, who is the petitioner, begged the court to grant her only a short adjournment, saying; ”I can not live under the same roof with this man, anymore. He and his family have ganged up against me
“He threatens my life saying that he can do anything to me and get away with it. I am no longer safe in that house.”
Mrs Okoroma also alleged that things deteriorated to a point where the husband invited the police to arrest her for no just cause.
