… To quiz 6 Chief Judges on Monday

Following conflicting exparte orders being granted by various Courts of coordinate jurisdiction, the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad has demanded for the records of proceedings in all the suits from which conflicting exparte orders emanated.

In this wise, the Chief Judges of Rivers, Kebbi, Cross Rivers, Anambra, Jigawa and Imo States are to be quizzed over the controversial conflicting orders delivered in their various States on Monday, September 6, 2021.

This is just as there are indications that the Chief Judge of Delta State High Court, has also been invited to join the other six Chief Judges to meet with the Chief Justice of Nigeria on Monday over the exparte order on the Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Mai Buni.

The conflicting exparte orders from Courts of Coordinate jurisdiction is being view by the CJN who is also the Chairman of the NJC borrowed shopping.

A statement by Mr. Soji Oye, director of Information of the National Judicial Council, said that the unprecedented move is to reset the anti-corruption efforts of the Justice Tanko leadership and entrench a new culture of accountability in the judicial system.

The statement further said that Justice Tanko Muhammad is also likely to meet with the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association in the course of the week, over the matter.
