CORBON Honours Julius Berger Executive Director – Bayi

The Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria has honoured the Executive Director, administration of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Alhaji Zubairu Ibrahim Bayi for his unflinching professional support for the building industry in Nigeria.

Describing Bayi’s consistency and work ethics as inspiring and uncommon commitment to professionalism, the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of CORBON, Mr. Samson Ameh Opaluwa, enjoined members of the body to emulate the worthy antecedents and professional integrity of Alhaji Zubairu Bayi.

Opaluwa, who stated this at the award ceremony in Abuja, also said it is a positively acknowledged fact in the building construction industry, that Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has a proud history inundating the nation’s built environment with iconic and shining landmark projects across the country and in the Federal Capital Territory.  

Opaluwa further said that Julius Berger has earned its worthy legacy of engineering construction success, operational strength, project stability, and reliability.   According to him; “Julius Berger’s national operational spread and international technical acclaim is rooted in verifiable and proud history of excellent results and reliability of service to its clients.”

Opaluwa therefore requested for an expanded and more robust collaboration between Julius Berger and CORBON in the area of personnel training to enhance the development and growth of artisanal skills for the building industry in Nigeria in furtherance of the goals of quality national infrastructural deliveries and transformation.

Responding to the award by CORBON, Alhaji Bayi, whose almost four decades of service has been committed to excellent service delivery in Julius Berger, thanked CORBON for the recognition accorded Julius Berger and himself, pledging Julius Berger’s continuing loyalty only to topmost quality service, engineering integrity and safety in the practice of building and engineering construction in Nigeria.

Some of the personalities at the event were the immediate past President of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) Mr. Tijani B. Shua’ibu, the Registrar and Council member of CORBON, Mr. Peter KUROSHI, Mr. Aliyu Ova, Council member of CORBON; and Mr. Ayokunle A. Akinboyede of Julius Berger who is also a registered member of CORBON.

Bayi is an alumni of the historical Barewa College and a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with an honours degree in Building in the early 8os. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.

Amongst other worthy professional feathers in the colourful cap of his inspiring career, Bayi, a registered member of CORBON, has also since achieved Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) as well as Fellowship of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC). He is also an inducted member of the pivotal driver of the private sector in Nigeria, the Institute of Directors (IoD).

CORBON was established by the Builders Registration Act CAP. B13 LFN 2004 for the regulation of the building industry in the country.
