Court Grants PDP Green Light To Hold Its Elective Convention In Ibadan

A High Court of Oyo State sitting in Ibadan, on Monday, November 3, 2025, cleared the Peoples Democratic Party ((PDP) to hold its schedule November 15 and 16, Elective National Convention.

The court presided over by Justice A. L. Akintola. Also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to monitor and observe the Party’s convention.

Justice Akintola while delivering judgment in a suit marked No. I/1336/2025, and filed by Folahan Malamo Adelabi, an aspirant for the position of Deputy National Organizing Secretary, specifically directed the PDP to proceed with its Elective National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025

The court also ordered the PDP, its Servants, Agents or Officers not to truncate, frustrate, the Guidelines, Time Table and Schedule of Activities, or disrupt, prevent or stop the Scheduled National Convention.

The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deploy monitors and observers to the national convention of the PDP.

The Court particularly directed Rt Hon Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, the Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), to proceed with all arrangements relating to the exercise.
