COVID-19: Senator Gyang Calls for Prayers To Overcome Pandemic

BY AHMED TUKUR in JOS – Senator Istifanus Gang, representing Plateau North, has called on the people of Jos North community of Plateau State to embark on fervent prayers for God’s intervention to overcome the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

Gang’s call was contained in a statement by his Special Assistant on Jos community, Hajiya Nafisat Omar, in which he further urged all faiths to turn to God during this trying moment.

The Senator’s note that the deadly virus is a global pandemic that needs all and sundry to assist government in ensuring that the policies outline to prevent the spread is achieved.

He also said that both government and health professionals are doing their best to ensure that the people of the local government are not infected by the virus.

Gang appealed to stakeholders, religious leaders, parents, most especially mothers to counsel their children and wards not to engaged in any act that will breach the peace and security of the community in this trying period.

The lawmaker also advised his constituents to always adhere to safety measures on Covid-19 and respect constituted authority.

According to him; “The deadly virus is a global pandemic that needs all and sundry to assist government in ensuring that the policies outline to prevent the spread is achieved while both faiths engages in prevent prayers for God to assist us in overcoming the present  situation”.

Gang advised the washing of hands with clean water and sanitizers and to equally avoid crowd and always wear face mask and hand gloves.

He said; “Only adherence to safety measures outline by health experts and government will assist in defeating the virus.”
