COZA Pastor Fatoyinbo In Police Net
- Faces interrogation at FCID hqtrs Abuja
Controversial Senior Pastor and founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, is currently facing interrogation at the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Pastor Fatoyinbo surrendered himself for questioning on Tuesday over rape allegations leveled against him by Mrs Busola Dakolo.
Mrs Dakolo, wife of Nigeria’s inspirational singer, Timi Dakolo, had accused Fatoyinbo of raping her many years ago and the allegation has continued to elicit comments from Nigerians, especially in the social media space.
Insiders hinted that Pastor Fatoyinbo is being interrogated at Force Criminal Investigation Division (FCID) headquarters in Abuja by a team of four officers led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Adaku Uche Anya.
Following the accusation by Mrs Dakolo that Fatoyinbo raped her about 20 years ago while still a teenager, the COZA Pastor was invited to appear before a panel instituted by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to investigate the case.
However, the embattled Pastor shunned the invitation, claiming that his lawyers advised him against appearing before the panel because it was prejudiced and may not conduct an impartial session.
But in a statement last Friday in Abuja, the Pastor reportedly said he could appear before the panel after the police investigations.
The change of mind is coming on heels of PFN’s declaration that its probe into the allegations against Fatoyinbo was inconclusive because of his failure to appear before the panel. – NAN
