BY ARCHIBONG EYO, CALABAR – The Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA) has confirmed the nomination of members of the State Judicial Service Commission (JSC)
This followed the House adoption of its Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions and Conflict Resolution’s report on the screening of nominees for confirmation as members of the Commission.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon Nelson Ofem, who presented the report, said the nominees were found to be proper and fit for the appointment, adding that the Committee is confident the appointees will invigorate the Commission for efficient service delivery.
Those nominated as members of the JSC are Bar. Ededia Okpo-Ere, Elder Edem Ita Edem, Mrs. Mary-TheresaIkwen and Barr. EgbaraOwa. Also to serve in the Commission are the State Chief Judge as well as the Cross River Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
In his remarks, Speaker John Gaul Lebo charged the nominees to be dedicated and alive to their responsibilities, adding that they were chosen based on their integrity and the wealth of experience garnered over the years.
