BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The 2019 governorship candidate of the All Grassroots Alliance (AGA), in Kaduna State, Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Umar, has said that the state of insecurity in the state cannot be allowed to continue unchecked.

Umar while taking a critical appraisal of the crisis in the state, said that concerted efforts must be made by the Kaduna state government to bring lasting peace that has bedeviled the state for over 30 years.

In his words; “We cannot continue like this in the state where lives and property are being destroyed all the times without concrete steps taken to bring an end to the senseless killings in the state.

In a letter of condolence on the death of Agom Adara, Umar said; “I sympathized with the people of Kasuwan Magani, the Adara people and citizens of the state for the senseless killings that has caused unimaginable and unwelcome loss of lives and property thereby taking the state backward in all spheres of life.

“Time has come that as a people who are yearning for the unity, peace and development of this state that something urgent must be done by the state government to evolve ways to ensure genuine reconciliation among the diverse nationalities for harmonious relationship that will lead to sustainable and better understanding of one another.”

He said that steps must be taken by government to carry the youth along in meaningful programmes that would take them off from roaming the streets, having nothing to do for a living but end in social vices as a result of idleness.

Umar said that the All Grassroots Alliance is a party that has a special interest in transforming the grassroots where majority of the youths and women reside to give them a chance to showcase their potentials for meaningful development in the state.

He commended the security agencies in displaying high sense of maturity in curtailing the loss of lives and property in Kaduna and environs thus enjoined the citizens to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in ensuring normalcy in the state.

He prayed God Almighty to give the state government and security personnel the wisdom and understanding to ensure quick restoration of peace and understanding among the citizens.
