The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), ‎Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has applauded the Cross River State Journalists’ Forum (CROSSJOF), Abuja, for the successful unveiling of its publication, the Panorama Magazine.

According to her, the project is quite commendable as it represents a valuable contribution to strengthening Diaspora reportage in Cross River State, Nigeria and the global Diaspora Community.

Dabiri-Erewa, who spoke at the strategic meeting between NiDCOM and CROSSJOF, applauded the body for its innovative ideas and also taking responsibility to promote reliable, credible, impactful, development-focused journalism.

‎Amplifying the publication’s potential as a key platform for spotlighting diaspora activities, showcasing achievements and driving meaningful conversations around national development, the NiDCOM Boss tasked the Forum to stay focused on the ideals of constructive contribution to national progress.

Equally commending the leadership of Mrs Francisca Ogar as CROSSJOF Chairman, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa noted that her role reflects the rising influence and competence of women in media management nationwide.

‎While tasking the Forum on bridging gaps between government goals and public understanding, Dabiri-Erewa said NiDCOM is committed to support platforms that amplify diaspora engagement at the federal, state and local levels, with particular reference to Cross River State.

‎Earlier in her remarks, CROSSJOF Chairman, Mrs. Ogar appreciated Hon. Dabiri-Erewa for her consistent encouragement of media organisations as well as her unwavering support for diaspora-related initiatives.

She noted that this support has motivated Cross River State to strengthen its own diaspora structures, including the recent inauguration of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM), headed by a pioneer staff of NIDCOM, Mr Otu Okor in September.

‎Mrs. Ogar further announced that Panorama Magazine will feature dedicated pages for NiDCOM programmes and activities, ensuring that diaspora stories, engagements, and success narratives receive sustained visibility.

‎Meanwhile, a statement signed by Gabriel Odu, Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit of NIDCOM stated that both organization used the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to building stronger partnership that will enhance diaspora awareness and promote accurate reportage, while also encouraging greater participation of Cross River State indigenes and other Nigerian Diasporas in global development conversations.
