Dangerous Driving: Police To Arraign FRSC Officer For Causing Accident In Kaduna
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The Kaduna State Police Command is to arraign a personnel of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Kaduna State Command, Inspector Marshall Esther Abaje for dangerous driving and causing accident.
The suspect is also being charge for driving without a Driver’s licence and vehicle particulars.
Counsel to the victim (Mr. Moses Allahmagani) of the accident caused by Abaje, Barrister Timothy Kyuga, said investigation has been concluded, while the First Police Report (FPR), is ready, adding that the case has been assigned to State High Court 4.
A source from the police revealed that letter of invitation has been sent to the FRSC to present her before the Motor Traffic Division, (MTD), Gabasawa.
The suspect is expected to have reported at the Division, but as at the time of filing in this report, the alleged suspect, Esther Abaje is yet to report at the police just as the FRSC is yet to reply to the police letter.
Moses Allahmagani had on December 25, 2018, said that he was driving along Waff Road, Kaduna when suddenly Inspector Marshall Abaje drove out of Sokoto Road and bumped into his vehicle causing damages.
Allahmagani further said that the suspect immediately invited her colleagues who towed his vehicle to their office and impounded and demanded N150,000 for repairs.
Not satisfied by the demand of the FRSC staffers, the victim petitioned the police and a team of police was directed to conduct investigation after which it was resolved that the suspect Esther Abaje should be arraigned in court for causing accident with dangerous driving.
Speaking on the accident, the victim said the FRSC Inspector Marshall Esther Abaje has no driving license and vehicle papers adding that she repaired her own vehicle while his own remained impounded.
According to Allahmagani; “I lost my job in the process as I couldn’t do my job effectively as a result of injuries l sustained and had to let go the job.”
Efforts made to get Esther Abaje for her own version of the story proved abortive.
