Dangote Sold Petrol To Us At N898 Per Litre – NNPC Ltd Says
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), on Sunday, September 15, 2024, said that it bought fuel from Dangote Refinery at the price of N898 per litre.
NNPC Ltd which moved about 300 trucks to the 650,000 capacity refinery in Lagos, on Saturday, for which loading commenced on Sunday, its trucks successfully loaded petrol at the Dangote Refinery on Sunday.
Mr Olufemi Sineye, Chief Communications Officer of the NNPCL, explained that the claim that corporation purchased the petrol at N760 per liter was incorrect.
Soneye said; “For this initial loading, the price from the Dangote Refinery was N898 per liter. Already, 70 trucks have been loaded by this afternoon.
The Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun, had announced that the NNPCL would be the sole off-taker of refined petrol from Dangote Refinery.
Edun, who stated this at the Technical Sub-Committee meeting on the sale of crude oil to local refineries in Naira, on Friday, said that PMS would only be sold to the NNPC Ltd which would then sell to the marketers.
The Finance Minister who was represented by Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), however said that diesel from the Dangote Refinery would be sold in Naira to any interested off-taker.
This was as he said that the completion of all agreements and modalities for the implementation of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval on the sale of crude to local refineries in Naira and corresponding purchase of petroleum products in Naira.
The Federal Executive Council that was presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, approved the sale of crude to local refineries in Naira in line with the Petroleum Industry Act and corresponding purchase of petroleum products in Naira.
