The Director in charge of the Department of Publication and Documentation of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Davidson Aminu has been conferred with Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Policy Analysis by the University of Abuja.
Mr. Aminu, as known amongst his colleagues, friends and relations to be humble and humane was conferred with the doctorate degree on Friday having satisfied all requirement for the award of the prestigious certificate.
A reception was held in his honour by his family during which invited guests and well-wishers were treated to sumptuous meals, drinks and music to go with at his residence situated in Kubwa, Abuja on Saturday.
In his brief remarks, Dr. Aminu said that given his humble background particularly, against the backdrop of being a son to a farmer, he did not envisaged that he would go this far but for the zeal, determination and the encouragement he received from friends, relations; particularly, his beautiful wife (Bisi) that stood by him all through.
He said the journey was initially rough but looking back with the binoculars, he has cause to remain grateful to God Almighty that saw him through. He said, “Once, you are determined, God will surely see you through it. That is my brief story.”
Guest at the occasion which attracted traditional, Chiefs, media publishers, Academia, military Generals, top civil servants amongst others took time to eulogized Dr. Davidson Aminu.
In his remarks, the Executive Editor cum co-publisher of Forefront Ltd publishers of Forefront Magazine and Forefront online news, Mr. Amos Dunia described (Dr. Davidson Aminu) as a man of humility, integrity, reliable, dependable and trustworthy man, who is genuinely concerned about the growth and welfare of others. He said that Dr. Aminu is embodiment of discipline in spite of his humble nature and above all; a man who loves and cherish his community and also has the growth of the country at heart.
Speaking in turn, Chief Nathaniel Momoh said Dr Aminu is a detribalized Nigerian and a goal getter, adding that in spite of the fact that as a young boy growing up, when mother-luck fell on one of his senior brothers that became so wealthy, Dr. Aminu refused to be carried away with flamboyance as he had his mind focused on his future unlike what other children with the same opportunity would have done by becoming dependent on his brother’s wealth.
Also speaking, Mr. David Aiyejina of the University of Abuja, said Dr. Aminu has set the stage for the younger generation to now embrace the saying that “nothing is impossible if there is the will.” He added that Dr. Aminu has made his generation and the people of Ososo proud.
In his own remarks, the Chairman of Ososo Town Union in Abuja, Mr. Phili Ojishua, said that Dr Aminu remains a pride to the people of Ososo and Nigeria, adding that owing to his hard work and dedication to his duty, he rose to become a Director at the NOA in spite of competing stakes.
Born in Ososo town in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo state, Dr. Aminu had his primary school education in Our Lady High school, Kaduna and relocated back to his home town where he gained admission into Ososo Grammar school, Ososo.
After graduation from secondary school, Dr. Aminu proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he studied Political Science and graduated in 1985. His zeal for higher academic qualification kept on burning in spite of work and family challenges as he applied go for his Masters in Public Administration and Policy Analysis with the University of Abuja where he had his MSc in 2010 and later capped it up with a Ph.D in Policy Analysis in 2018.
Dr. Aminu as he is meritoriously called now, started my working career in the defunct Directorate for Social Mobilization in 1989 which later transformed into National orientation Agency. He attained various positions in NOA among which include being a Former State Director of NOA, Edo state and presently the Director in charge of Publication and Documentation.
Dr. Aminu, who also the Editor-in-chief of NOA’s Mobilizer quarterly magazine and monthly news bulletin, NOA News has published books and written several newspaper articles.
He is happily married to Bisi and blessed with children.
