There are indications that armed bandits on Thursday morning stormed Federal Government Girls College, Yauri in Kebbi State and abducted about 30 students and three teachers.
It was gathered that the heavily armed bandits rode to the school on motorcycles from neighbouring Rijau forest and over powered the mobile police unit guarding the school.
During their operation and gun battle, the bandits killed one of the policemen just as it also gathered that while the exchange of gunfire was going on betwwen the bandits and the policemen, many of the students and staff members managed to escape from the clutches of the deadly bandits.
It was further gathered that the development has sent jitters into the spine of the people in Birnin Yauri thereby creating a tensed atmosphere and confusion in the area.
