Death Of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, Highly Regrettable – Ag. COAS Laments

The Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Olufemi Oluyede, has described the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Taoreed Lagbaja as highly regrettable and a great loss to the nation.

General Lagbaja died at the age of 56, after battling an undisclosed ailment

General Oluyede told journalists in Abuja on Wednesday that the entire army is in a sorrowful mood following the death of its leader, adding that the country as a whole is devastated over the sad loss.

He said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, did everything possible to ensure that the late Chief of Army Staff get the best of medical treatment to stay alive.

In the words of Oluyede; “But as we all know, we all belong to God and He takes when He feels necessary for him to do so.

“The late Chief of Army Staff, General Lagbaja was someone that gave his all to Nigeria. He was a selfless leader, very passionate about Nigeria and he led the Nigerian Army very well.

“He was courageous, he was known to be thorough and a professional to the core. So, it is a big loss to us. And all we can say at this moment is that we pray that the good Lord will find a place for him to rest.”

The acting Chief of Army Staff said the late Lagbaja needs to be celebrated for giving his all to the country and therefore urged Nigerians to celebrate him for the good works he did.

General Oluyede prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Chief of Army Staff.
