Dele Farotimi Speaks In Cryptic Message After Release From Detention
Human rights activist, lawyer and writer, Mr Dele Farotimi, has declared that he remains undaunted amidst his ongoing trial over alleged defamation.
Farotimi, who was released on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, from the Correctional Service in Ekiti State after spending days in detention, took to his X handle on Thursday, December 26, 2024, saying that he cannot be ruined.
He pointedly said that he is not afraid of anything despite the ongoing trial.
In his words; “Tomorrow will be ‘when we kill him’. They then use rumours to ruin him.
“A god that the god of thunder cannot kill. Is the power of the god of thunder not enough to destroy? I face no fears. I have none.”
Farotimi was arraigned on a 14-count charge bordering on alleged defamation for which the Nigeria Police alleged he ‘criminally defamed’ Chief Afe Babalola in his book titled; ‘Nigera and its Criminal Justice System’.
Farotimi is standing trial on two court charges bordering on alleged defamation against Chief Afe Babalola, SAN.
