The Department of State Services (DSS), on Saturday, January 10, 2026, confirmed the arrest of one of its active staff, Ifeanyi Onyewuenyi, who allegedly converted and married a lady, Walida Abdulhadi.
This was contained in a statement by Favour Dozie, Deputy Director Public Relations and Strategic Communications, National Headquarters of the DSS in which she stated that the arrested staff is being investigated, stressing that such acts are against the Service’s regulations and laid down code of conduct.
The DSS however, disowned one Ifeanyi Festus, who was alleged to have been involved in the abduction, defilement of a minor.
Emphatically declaring that it has no record of such a person in its employment, the DSS statement states: “The attention of Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to reports alleging involvement of a staff of DSS, one Ifeanyi Festus, in a case of abduction, defilement of a minor and abuse of office among other offences.
“For clarity, the Service has no record of above named in its employment.”
“However, it is hereby confirmed that, an active staff, Ifeanyi Onyewuenyi, who is suspected to have forcefully converted and married one Walida Abdulhadi ‘f’, has been arrested and is currently being investigated.
“It must be stressed that, such acts are against our regulations and laid down code of conduct.
“As such, outcome of the investigation will be made public, please”.
