The Department of State Services (DSS), has announced the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of an ongoing internal reform aimed at sanitising the agency and upholding professional standards.
This was as the DSS warned members of the public to be wary of some of the dismissed officers who still parade themselves as active personnel.
These were contained in a statement issued on Tuesday, in which the DSS explained that the dismissals were carried over a period as part of broader efforts aimed at ridding secret police of misconduct and corruption.
The statement further said that the Service has continued to undertake internal reforms to enhance professionalism and integrity within its ranks.

It further said; “As part of these measures, 115 personnel have been dismissed after due processes and disciplinary actions were concluded.
“In addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the Service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel,” it said.
The DSS urged Nigerians to avoid engaging in any form of official dealings with the affected individuals, adding that their identities have been published on the DSS official website.
The statement further stated; “Members of the public are advised to verify the status of anyone claiming to represent the Service before any engagement”.
