Easter: Pray For Nigeria in the Fight Against COVID-19 Pandemic – Senator Laah Urges Christians

BY ISRAEL BULUS, KADUNA – The Senator Danjuma Laah representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, has urged the Christian Faithful across the world to pray for Nigeria as they mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ against the spread of COVID -19 pandemic.

Laah, who made the appeal in his Easter message, noted that this year’s Easter came when the world is gripped with a COVID -19 disease.

Describing the pandemic as unfortunate to the Christians Faithful, Senator Laah regretted that it was unfortunate that Christians found themselves celebrating Easter on a very unusual manner.

He said; “This Easter season comes at a very trying moment for the human race due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. In spite of the pandemic, Christian faithful should not forget the reason for the season, for which the foundation of their faith is rooted.” 

He urged Christians to rekindle their faith in Christ, who overcame persecution, sufferings and displayed endurance, steadfastness while on Earth.

He further said; “I urge you to exemplify the teachings of Christ, and live a life of perseverance, the core values of humility, discipline and obedience.

“There is no better time for Christians to remain steadfast, faithful, hopeful, intensify prayers and support Government believing the Country will come out strong through its trying difficult moments,” Laah added.

He called on all and sundry to abide strictly to the simple rule of social distancing by staying at home at all times, constantly washing their hands and adhering to personal hygiene as the fight against the Covid-19 get to all Nigerians.

Laah commended all the health workers in the state and indeed the country for their efforts to clampdown the deadly disease.
