Economy: Buhari Receives Briefings From Udoma, Adeosun, Emefiele

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday received briefings from the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele.

Also present at the meeting was the Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari.

The economy was the focus of the meeting, as the Ministers and the CBN Governor updated Buhari on the economy, implementation of the 2017 Budget, preparation for the 2018 Budget, revenue strategies, combined cost reduction and debt management.

Buhari was quoted as telling the Ministers that the revival of the economy was one of the major planks on which the campaign of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), was based. He expressed happiness at the level of achievements attained in reviving the economy.

He told the Ministers that the Federal Government was irrevocably committed to the development of the economy and to bring succour to Nigerians.
