BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Edo State chapter rejected the results of Saturday’s Governorship election alleging foul play and manipulations.
The party however urged its members to remain calm while its leaders study the result and decide the next line of action to be taken.
This was announced by the Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, John Mayaki, who said that “the party rejects the result, alleging “strong-arm tactics”.
In the words of Mayaki; “Our people were arbitrarily arrested, many of the figures were fabricated. There were illicit tampering with results.
“Areas where we won, they cancelled them. They decreased the votes in areas we had advantages. They rejected our results and jerked up theirs,” Mayaki said in a statement which he said is a preliminary reaction.
The APC also alleged that there was an arbitrary arrest of local party members, saying; “Obaseki shouted that he was being rigged out and blamed INEC at the initial stage but that was to divert attention from the evil going on in the field”.
The APC commended its members and Edolites for their support, adding that its leaders would announce their decision and course of action in due course.
