Edo Govt Condemns Rape, Killing Of Female Student
The Edo State Government has condemned the rape and gruesome murder of a fresh graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) identified as Glory Adekolure,
Reports indicated that the late Adekolure was brutally raped and murdered at Iyowa Community, Benin City, on 13th June 2024
A competent source disclosed that Glory, 22, was on her way home after processing her clearance forms when she was tortured and raped to death by yet-to-be-identified persons.
Her corpse was later dropped close to her mother’s house within the Iyowa Community.
In a statement in Benin, the Edo State capital, the State Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, expressed shock and sadness over the incident.
According to Nehikhare; “Governor Godwin Obaseki has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Funso Adegboye, to fish out the perpetrators of the evil act within the next seven days”.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident on Thursday, the Police spokesperson in Edo State, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the Command was already investigating the case in order to take appropriate actions as necessary
Mr Nwabuzor, who is a superintendent of Police, explained that; “There have been no arrests so far” – With NAN report
