Edo: Pastor Ize-Iyamu Wins Governorship Ticket Of APC

VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was on Monday declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governorship primary election in Edo State.

The Governorship primary election was conducted by a committee appointed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC which nominated Governor Hope Uzodinma as the Chairman of the panel.

In declaring Ize-Iyamu winner of the Governorship election, Governor Uzodima said that after the collation of results from returning officers in the 18 local government areas of the state, Ize-Iyamu garnered 27,838 votes, while his closest rival, Dr Pius Odubu scored 3,776 and followed by Mr Osaro Obaze, who pulled 2,751 votes.

With this result, Ize-Iyamu was declared winner to fly the flag of the APC in the scheduled September 19, governorship election in the state.
