Education Minister Probes Death Of FGC Kwali Student

BY TEMI OHAKWE, ABUJA – Following the death of Nuhu Yahaya, a JSS II student of the Federal Government College, Kwali, Abuja, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has set up a panel to investigate the circumstances of his death.

Adamu, who confirmed the death of the student in a press statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Ben Bem Goong, said the Ministry has equally sent a condolence letter to the family of the late Nuhu as well as paid a visit to the family.

The rumor of the death of the 13 years Nuhu has been trending in the social media since two weeks ago, alleging that his female teacher was responsible for his death.

It was alleged that Nuhu Yahaya, who died on August 9, 2021 was beaten to death by his female teacher, but the Minister of Education dismissed the speculations as unfounded and therefore advised members of the public, particularly, the media to ignore such rumours.

The minister appeal to members of the public should await the findings of the investigation committee on the incident.
