Immediate past Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson has presented himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following his invitation over allegations bordering on abuse of office during his eight-year tenure in the South-South.
Dickson, who ruled Bayelsa State between 2012 and 2020, is currently the senator representing Bayesla West in the National Assembly,
Spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the invitation of the former governor also accused of misappropriation of public funds.
Senator Dickson arrived the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja at about 11am and was being grilled by a team of operatives investigating the allegations against him.
Though the details of the allegations against the governor were still sketchy as of press time, a competent source familiar with the case hinted that among the allegations against Dickson are issues of assets declaration and misapplication of intervention funds as well as other assets belonging to the Bayelsa State government.
