The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to use the observance of the Eid-al-Adha to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion and national unity amid ongoing efforts to build a more secure and prosperous country.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, who stated this in a goodwill message to Nigerians particularly Muslim faithful on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir, said the sacred festival symbolises faith, obedience and devotion to Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Idris urged Nigerians to use the season to pray for peace, stability and progress, while also extending love and support to the less privileged irrespective of ethnic, religious or political differences.
The minister reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda and improving the lives of citizens through inclusive governance and national development.
Idris also prayed for peace, joy and prosperity across the country and expressed the hope that Allah would accept the prayers and sacrifices of the faithful.
