Eid-El-Kabir: Gov. Mohammed Pledges Loyalty For The People Of Bauchi

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has pledged that he will remain loyal to the common people of the state by providing them with dividends of democracy.

This is as he vowed that his administration would be as much as possible be accountable adding that he wants all officials in his government to know that they are responsible and accountable to God and to the people who voted them into power.

The Governor also applauded the people of the state for their adherence and compliance to the NCDC COVID-19 pandemic preventive protocols and appealed to them not to relent in being obedient to constituted authorities.

The Governor assured that, in spite of the negative effect of Coronavirus on the state’s economy, his administration will work assiduously to overcome challenges facing critical sectors of the economy and all forms of violence against humanity.

Mohammed while felicitating with Muslim Ummah in the state on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El Kabir celebration, urged them to use the occasion for self-assessment.

Mohammed was spoke with correspondents covering Government House shortly after observing the two raka’at Eid-El Kabir prayer at Bauchi Central Mosque, called on the Muslim faithful to use the period for sober reflection.

He noted that Eid-El-Kabir is a commemoration of the great sacrifice and total submission of Prophet Abraham (AS) to the will of Allah when he answered the Divine call to sacrifice his only son, Prophet Isma’il.

He further said; “This period is for us to take corrective measures where necessary for us to be amongst the believers who will enjoy the mercies of Allah (SWT) in the hereafter.

“This time around, we are having a lot of challenges because of the outbreak of COVID-19 in which we could not perform Hajj, cannot to interact as much as we wish, but we have seen people making sacrifices of observing NCDC protocols.”

Mohammed then emphasized the need for the Muslim ummah to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, humility and respect for one another for the betterment of the society, stressing that his administration is ready to be accountable.
