BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said that narrow as his victory of the Dr Kayode Fayemi victory at Saturday governorship election may have been and irregularities notwithstanding, he is still urging all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), supporters in Ekiti State to remain peaceful and orderly.

Atiku also urged PDP supporters to cooperate with the party at the state and national levels as they determine the next steps, stressing that the PDP had an excellent candidate in Prof Kolapo Olubunmi Olusola in the Ekiti governorship election and gave solid support to the state chapter of the party.

According to him; “The Independent National Electoral Commission has however announced Kayode Fayemi, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, as the winner of the election.”

Atiku commended Prof Olusola, who he noted has shown great restraint and stands in solidarity with Governor Ayodele Fayose, whose commitment to the people of Ekiti continues to inspire Nigerians beyond the state.

“We will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with them through these difficult times,” Atiku assured.
