El-Zakzaky: We’re Liaising With Stakeholders Towards Compliance With Court Ruling – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday said it has received the order granting the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheik Ibrahim EL-Zakzaky leave to travel to India for medical treatment.

The DSS in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Peter Afunanya, said the service is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance.

Afunanya said that conformity with the order is in line with the Service’s avowed commitment to the Rule of Law inherent in a democracy. 

A Kaduna State High Court on Monday granted Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), and his wife Zeenat medical leave to Mandeta hospital in New Delhi, India.

Presiding judge of the Court, Justice Darius Khobo had adjourned his ruling in the application for permission to travel to India for medical attention filed by Ibrahim El-Zazaky and his wife, Zeenat to August 5, 2019.
