Following violent disruption of voting process by some hired thugs, officers and men of the Nigeria Police officers on Supplementary Election Duty on Saturday arrested the Kano State Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Muktar Yakasai.
Alhaji Yakasai was arrested along with some thugs that he led to disrupt voting process specifically at Yelwa Secondary School, Dala Local Government Area of the state.
Some of the thugs were reported to have brutalized some voters, journalists and election observers in Kano. Some of the journalists had their cameras destroyed while about four were injured.
It was also gathered that from some of the observers on ground that violence broke out in Gama ward which forced the police to fire tear gas to disperse youth who were becoming frantic.
