Elevate Bogoro To Higher Position, APC Chieftain Appeals To Buhari

BY AHMED AHMED, BAUCHI – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Uba Boris, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to give higher responsibility to the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Professor Suleiman Bogoro.

Speaking to journalists over the weekend in Bauchi, Alhaji Boris noted that Bogoro, who is an indigene of the state, is among the few technocrats in President Buhari’s team projecting the good image of the administration and the party.

Buttressing his points, the party’s chieftain said that many higher institutions in the country were more like advanced secondary schools until Bogoro took over the mantle of leadership of TETFund.

“For example, the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, had dilapidated structures before, but if you go there now, you will see transformation. New blocks of classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories and hostels have been constructed by TETFund.

“These have facilitated the accreditation of courses and introduction of new programmes. It will interest you to know that the polytechnic now runs national diplomas, higher national diplomas, national certificate of education and degrees due to the provision of necessary infrastructures to the institution by the Fund. The same has been done to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi and other institutions in the country.

“In addition, TETFund under Bogoro has promoted research in universities and prioritized scholarships to deserving lecturers to go to both local and foreign universities for studies”, he said.

The APC chieftain recalled that Bogoro served twice in TETFund, adding that he deserves to be appointed into a higher position in the government.

“On behalf of the entire citizens of Bauchi state, I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to elevate the TETFund Executive Secretary to a bigger position, as he is an image maker for the administration”, he declared.
