Embrace Modern Technologies – Mahmoud Tasks Indigenous Construction Firms

BY EVELYN DADU, ABUJA – The Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, has challenged indigenous construction companies to embrace modern technologies towards shaping the country’s engineering landscape for effective service delivery.

Dr Mahmoud said the productive future of Nigeria’s engineering sector lies in all stakeholders consciously pushing the boundaries, seeking new frontiers, and embracing innovation in the handling of their tasks.

The Minister, who spoke at the 40th-anniversary celebration of a construction firm, News Engineering Nigeria Limited, applauded it for playing a pivotal role in shaping the engineering landscape of the nation.

A statement signed by the Minister’s Special Assistant Media, Mr. Austin Elemue quoted her as noting that the occasion not only marks four decades of dedication and hard work but also highlights the company’s incredible journey in contributing to the growth and development of the engineering sector.

The Minister, represented by the Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvements, Dr Jumai Ahmadu, further extolled the company saying; “The engineering prowess of News Engineering Nigeria Limited has pushed the boundaries of what is possible. The infrastructure and technology solutions it has provided have transformed the landscape of our nation’s capital city, enabling progress and development in numerous sectors.

“As we celebrate this 40th anniversary, we must also reflect on the people behind this success. The dedicated employees, the visionary leadership, and the unwavering support of our community have all been instrumental in shaping the legacy of News Engineering Nig Limited. The future is promising, and I have no doubt that this fast-growing firm will continue to be a driving force in the years to come”.

The Minister charged the company’s management not to rest on its oars but to keep working hard and breaking new ground to better the impressive performance of the past four decades.

Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of News Engineering Nigeria Limited, Mrs Josephine Nwaeze, said the milestones of the 40th anniversary were a testament to the company’s commitment to building upon the remarkable vision of the founder.

Nwaeze said through the years, the firm has expanded its reach across the engineering value chain, diversifying its expertise to meet the ever-changing needs of clients and the industry.

According to her; “The theme for this significant occasion “sustaining legacy” encapsulates the essence of our journey thus far. Over the past four decades, we have weathered challenges, embraced innovation, and built a strong foundation for success”.

The Managing Director appealed to stakeholders, clients, partners, and all those who have stood by the company over the years not to waver, assuring them that with a shared vision the legacy would be sustained for better years ahead.
