Emir Of Wase Declares Support For Cattle Ranching
By CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – The Emir of Wase, in Plateau State, Dr Muhammad Sambo Haruna, has commended the Federal and State Governments on efforts at establishing a Cattle Ranch in Wase Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking at the annual Durbar festival by the Wase Emirate during the Eidl Fitr Sallah celebration, the Emir called on the people to support the good intentions of the Government with regards to the ranching policy considering the enormous benefits they stand to benefit from the programme.
Haruna also expressed gratitude to President Muhammad Buhari for the recognition accorded the Emirate through his invitation for Iftar during the Month of Ramadan at the Presidential Villa and therefore called for special prayers for the President for good health and positive leadership.
The Emir urged the federal and State Governments to provide infrastructures, especially the Wase -Langtang, Wase -Dengi and Jarmai -Bashar -Kampanin Zurak Roads to uplift the People’s standard of living .
On the area of electricity, the Emir expressed dismay over the lack of power supply by the Jos Electricity Distribution Company despite the outrageous estimated bills imposed on consumers in Wase Local Government Area.
Haruna called for improvement in power supply for economic growth just as he reiterated his call for check on the activities of saboteurs in the fertilizer distribution chain to enable genuine farmers access the product.
In his remarks, the Long Goemai of Shendam, His Royal Highness, Chief Martin Shaldas, thanked the host on behalf of the invited guests for the warm reception accorded them, and called on all the people to live in peace irrespective of tribe and religious beliefs.
Among the Dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Agwom Izere, the Comptroller of Immigration Plateau State, Mrs KC Kwazu, and the Chief of Staff, Special Task Force (Operation Safe Haven) Major General Bello amongst others .
