BY EVELYN DADU, ABUJA – The national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has declared that no organ of the Union ordered or directed the shutting down of fuel stations or Oil installations.
NUPENG however said that it stands with Nigerian youths against police brutality thus called for immediate and far reaching Police reforms.
It said that its members were also victims of Police brutality and abuses through extortion, detention, harassment and intimidation nationwide.
These were contained in a statement issued by the National President and General Secretary of NUPENG, Comrade Willians Eniredonana and Comrade Olawale Afolabi respectively in which they empathized with all victims of police brutality including members of NUPENG across the country.
NUPENG said its members nationwide will peacefully join all well-meaning Nigerians to say POLICE BRUTALITY MUST STOP!
