The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, has declared that its members cannot afford to continue to keep quiet and allow some people to take them and the Party to the slaughter house.
Chairman of the Forum and governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, who stated the position of the PDP Governors, pointedly said that the time has come when they must flex their muscles, stressing that they are not cowards, and are not afraid of anybody.
Mohammed emphasised that the PDP Governors are capable of navigating the party beyond the shenanigans, the arrogance and impunity of some people and warned that they will no longer allow or tolerate anybody to take them for granted.
The Bauchi Governor, who stated these against the backdrop of the fresh hurdles and conditions set by the Nyesom Wike-led group on the aegis of the ‘Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP’, said that “Enough is Enough” and vowed that the Governors on the platform of the PDP and the Party would no longer tolerate such move from anyone.
The group loyal to Wike which met in Abuja on Monday, September 1, 2025, during which they assessed what they described as “critical issues” leading to the forthcoming National Convention of the PDP, said there should be no form of micro-zoning for peace and stability within the party.
The group also insisted that the National Chairman of the party should remain in the North-Central in line with the zoning formula of the 2021 convention among others.
However, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Mohammed stressed that the leadership of the Party would make sure they don’t go to slaughter houses.
In the words of Mohammed; “We are working as governors and National Working Committee to ensure that the key word is discipline.
“We will no longer allow or tolerate anybody to take us for granted. It has to stop. Enough is enough.
“We cannot continue to keep quiet and allow people to take us to the slaughterhouse. Leaders of the PDP are not cowards.
“The National chairman has spoken very well. The pedigree and capacity of the Convention Committee leadership is never in doubt because they have been doing it, they have done it before, and we believe we will do it very well.
“We are with the National Working Committee. We appreciate the sacrifice they are making,” Mohammed said.
